Medical: What Do You Know About Nursing Knowledge For Patients With Viral Hepatitis?

2025-8-2

The propaganda theme formulated by the Disease Control Center of the National Health Commission is "Preventing and Treating Liver Cancer, Healthy You and Me", with the aim of calling on the general public to actively and proactively receive hepatitis vaccines. Through physical examination, master liver function, and provide standard antiviral therapy for patients with chronic viral hepatitis for comprehensive prevention and treatment. Controlling viral infections poses a threat to human health. So how should patients with viral hepatitis be cared for?

1、 What is viral hepatitis? Viral hepatitis (abbreviated as hepatitis) is a systemic infectious disease mainly characterized by liver damage caused by various hepatitis viruses.

2、 Viral hepatitis is an infectious disease caused by multiple hepatitis viruses

Type A, B, C, D, and E are the main types of viral hepatitis. Type A and E mainly present as acute infections, with acute onset being the main symptom, and patients have a better prognosis. The onset of type B, C, and D is mostly chronic infection, and a few may develop into cirrhosis or even liver cancer. Different types of viruses have similar symptoms to varying degrees. In the acute phase, symptoms such as fatigue, decreased appetite, and liver enlargement may occur, with liver dysfunction as the main manifestation. Chronic or mild infections may not have obvious clinical manifestations.

3、 The transmission routes and prevention of viral hepatitis

1. Hepatitis A and E are transmitted through the gastrointestinal tract, while hepatitis B and C are transmitted through blood, mother to child, and sexually transmitted.

2. The best way to prevent and cure hepatitis B is to inject vaccine. The state has implemented free hepatitis B vaccination for all newborns. According to the order of "0,1,6" months, the first injection should be injected within 24 hours after birth.

4、 Nursing points for patients with viral hepatitis

1. Avoid eating spicy food, which can easily cause dampness and heat accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract, leading to an imbalance of liver and gallbladder qi and a decrease in digestive ability.

2. Do not smoke. The toxins in tobacco can cause damage to the liver and also affect its regeneration and repair. Therefore, for patients with liver diseases, smoking must be avoided.

3. Don't drink, because 90% of alcohol is metabolized in the liver, and alcohol will disturb the normal enzyme system of liver cells, so it will cause direct damage to liver cells, leading to necrosis of liver cells. For those patients with acute and chronic hepatitis B, even a little alcohol may lead to disease recurrence or change.

4. Avoid consuming processed food and try to minimize the consumption of canned or bottled beverages or food, as preservatives often added to canned or bottled beverages and food can cause varying degrees of damage to the liver.

5. Avoid excessive consumption of protein foods. Patients with severe hepatitis may experience decreased digestion and absorption capacity due to gastric mucosal edema, thickening and shortening of small intestinal villi, and bile secretion disorders. Eating too many high protein foods such as eggs, fish, and lean meat can easily cause symptoms such as bloating and indigestion.

6. Pay attention to daily routines, "30% treatment, 70% maintenance", so it is necessary to ensure sufficient sleep, reasonable nutrition, a regular schedule, exercise every morning, and maintain good sleep quality.

In summary, to ensure therapeutic efficacy, patients with viral hepatitis should have confidence, follow the doctor's instructions, actively cooperate with treatment, and do routine follow-up work. Most patients can recover after receiving formal and complete antiviral treatment.
